I’ve just rearranged and sorted out my Goodreads account so it’s the perfect time to do this tag. Thank you to Beth at Reading Every Night for tagging me. I really enjoyed reading your answers and I’m excited to do this tag myself, so here goes.
What was the last book you marked as ‘read’?
Wing Jones by Katherine Webber. The review for this book will be up next week Tuesday so I won’t spoil too much, but I can say that I’m glad I’ve read another book with a diverse (in this case, biracial) main character. I learnt something new about different cultures and backgrounds, which was the best part for me.
What are you currently reading?
I’m starting One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus tonight. I have mixed feelings about this one. I was really excited at first, but I’ve read a few worrying reviews (about potentially harmful content) in the meantime. I guess I’ll have to see for myself.
What was the last book you marked as TBR?
Solitaire by Alice Oseman. I really loved Radio Silence and I’m curious to see if her first book is as good. The blurb sounds promising so I’m hoping I’ll enjoy this one too.
What book do you plan to read next?
I’m not sure yet. When I’ve read One of Us is Lying I think I’ll either read Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone because that shiny 20th anniversary Hufflepuff edition is calling me name (let me know in the comments if you’re in Hufflepuff too! Or any other house. I’m always curious to know!) OR Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.
Do you use the star rating system?
Yes! And like everyone else, I’m waiting for the day when Goodreads is going to add half stars to their rating system. Get on it, Goodreads! The people are waiting 😀
Are you doing a 2017 reading challenge?
Yes! I set my goal to 30 books at the beginning of the year. I set it very low because I only just started getting into blogging (and reading!) regularly and I didn’t want to put too much pressure on myself. So far, I’ve read 21 books so I’m probably going to overshoot my goal, but I don’t mind. That’s going to be nice feeling 🙂
Do you have a wishlist?
My wishlist is the same as my to-read list on Goodreads. Since my library doesn’t offer many English novels (let alone the latest YA novels) and I’m not in a position to get a lot of ARCs (yet!), I unfortunately have to buy all the books I want to read.
What book do you plan to buy next?
It’s probably going to be Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. A lot of you suggested I read it and I promised Noriko we would read it together so, yes, that will be my next buy (Again, I don’t have the option to borrow it from the library or I would)
Do you have any favourite quotes? Share a few.
I haven’t updated this section yet, but I’ll share the ones I have.
“Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.” ― Leo Tolstoy,
“Some people care too much. I think it’s called love.” A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
“Monsters are real, and ghots are real too. They live inside us, and sometimes, they win.” Stephen King
I love these, but none of them are from my favourite books so I definitely need to update this soon.
Who are your favourite authors?
I’m more of a favourite-books person because I rarely read every book from a particular author. Having said that, I do consider John Green, Adam Silvera, and J.K Rowling (duh!) to be my favourite authors even though I don’t like ALL of their books.
Have you joined any groups?
Yes. I’m part of the YA book bloggers group. I haven’t been active at all but I’m hoping to change that soon.

And anyone else who wants to do it! Also, please feel free to add me on Goodreads (I’m Lauren Hanaway on there too) because I’m in some dire need of some more friends on there 😀 (Wow, that didn’t sound desperate at all…)
